FIOS Router Connectivity Issues

Within the last few weeks we have been experiencing internet connectivity issues with the supplied FIOS ActionTec routers. The 1st router was connected via MoCA to the ONT, with ethernet connections supplying an Xbox and PowerLine Ethernet Adapter(to a deskop in an upstairs bedroom). Wirelessly, connections to a laptop, several Kindles, mobile phones and Nintendo products were solid.

Recently, increasing levels of connection issues were observed (internet and VOD only) with several minutes of disconnection, before connectivity returned. This progressed until connection would go out (evidenced by amber LED on router) and would not come back until power was cycled.

I took previous suggestions and switched the MoCA connection to ethernet and the WEP encryption to WPA2. Neither appeared to have any effect.

Verizon then replaced the router. All cabling and hardware was replaced as suggested. The connectivity issues are still present. Several days ago, the outages were nearly hourly, with a corresponding restart. The past two days have been at least nightly (with a restart in the morning).

I just got off chat and subsequently the phone with Support. They were unable to find anything through line checks or through the event logs.

Any suggestions other than the new router being faulty as well?

This sounds like an ONT problem.  There are threads on other forums that describe what you're experiencing, and their ONT was faulty.

P.S. Your post was probably in the wrong forum...
