FiOS Connection Speeds Very Unstable - Support unable to assist

Hello, I have been experiencing connect stability issues for about a month.  I have the 75/35 package and recently cannot get anything higher than 5 mbps down and surprisingly 15 mbps up.  Yes, the upload is always higher than the download.

Here's 2 recent speed test statistics that the support techs have been unable to identify what would cause the flucuation.

Have any of you had similar issues and can explain why it is peaking and falling so often?

Here's the second:

What is going on?  I never had any issues for the first 4 months with FiOS and now I can't get anything higher than 5 mbps download.

Does the slowdown occur on wired & wirless connections? Also at any point was the ONT reset?  And do you have the MI424WR REV I router for FIOS? From what I read since you have the 75 Mb/s package you should be able to get one without any charge.

Don't foget to contact Custoner service, and ask for a credit to your account.

Try a different server.  I'm in Virginia and when I run a Verizon speed test, it defaults to the Reston, VA server.  Results are often similar to what you are seeing.  Selecting another server provides significantly better test results.

You can also try http://www.speedtest.net   which allows a much greater selection of servers.

I'm in the 92399 area code and have nearly the same issue. Verizon is aware of the "outage" on my side, though they cannot seem to fix it.

Its been going on for more than a month now. Customer service has no idea what it is, their computers just tell them that something is wrong in the area and "should be fixed soon",

Good luck.

This is happening to everybody who have fios, the service is currently oversold by the 1000.

Go and find out with your neighbors and you will be amazed how many more people are going through the same hell you are going.     Is up to you to stand this or you can file a BBB, FCC  consumers affairs for your city claim.

Also call you local channel news and have them run their service to expose bad businesses with bad business ethic you will be amazed with how fast this get solve once it get on the public ears

I had the same issue,  was told by verizon Fios operation center that i was the only one with this issue in my area until i took  to my neighbors houses all of which i saw an ONT outside of their house.    Happens that all of them was being told the same , i got the info of their name, address, account, including mine.    Gave this info to all of them to support them if they need to call.    On my next call a later day the history changed,  "Yes we area aware of the problem but there ins't an ETA to resolve this, this could be going for month"     Eventually is being like this for 6 month around were i live.

Next Step is file you claims with the correct entities and have the voice go public you just report this to you local news channel and they will do the rest.

Not so!

I've had FiOS for several years and have never seen a slowdown in speeds.  Not once.

With the 75/35 plan, this test is what I get 24/7, rain or shine:

When hurricane Sandy came through here last year, Optimum Online, the cable provider in this area, was out of service for a week.  FiOS never blinked.

I'm not saying you don't have a problem that needs to be solved but your assumption that it's happening to everybody is incorrect.

A tech tried solving the problem by plugging the modem directly into the ONT with a brand new wire.

Did not work, still having the jagged graph with speeds ~3 mbps down.

Pretty annoying stuff.

Thanks for the heads up Rafael. I've already started dealing with Charter. They are currently offering a 30 mb, phone, and HD tv promo for for 30 bucks a month. I am so tired of Verizon and them giving me the run around. I love your idea of taking it public! I will definitely take that route.

I am paying a fios fee, but I am only getting 300 kb download speeds.... for two months! I am totally done with this coampany.  Verizon won't even give me a discount for this down period.... and they have confirmed that its a fault on their side!!
