FiOS Installation

Just had the FiOS Quantum setup installed and I thought I read the router could be connected back to the ONT with either ethernet or coax.   In my installation, the router is connected to both.   Can someone explain why the Quantum router would require both connections?   The coax also goes to the Quantum STB.   Just curious...

BTW, I thought the installation by the technician, as well as the pre-home installation work to bury the fiber drop from the terminal to the house, were all done in a professional and efficient manner.

Thanks!

What speed Internet service do you have and do you have TV service?

Internet over 75M requires ethernet connection.

And Router needs to be connected to coax to supply IP service to the STBs to support guide and VOD.

did they bury it as deep as your local code requires?

it is refreshing to know that not all  fiber drop installlers cut corners           !

Yes, it was buried to code...verified by County inspector.

So, I will take this to be the answer:

"And Router needs to be connected to coax to supply IP service to the STBs to support guide and VOD."
