First off, I don't know the info for our Verizon FiOS account because its all in my stepfather's name and he takes care of it all.
Our FiOS internet has been acting strange lately. About every hour, it dies off for a period of time, then comes back. No website will load during that time, and my laptop will tell me I'm connected to the router, but not the internet.
A friend of mine told me he had to order a new router and the power box or whatever that thing is that comes with your FiOS set up. Is there another way to fix this?
What is the router revision model (it's in the back of little sticker)?
When connectivity goes out if you shut off and restart the router does the connection immediately come back?
Don't know if this will help, but.....
Take a look at the router log to see what it shows. If it is showing constant WAN link down and up like this:

(Note: mine says Ethernet, yours might say Coax, depending on how you are connected)
Then perhaps you have a problem with your ONT. I had something similar to what you describe, started slowly and got worse and worse, replacing the ONT fixed my problem.
Another symptom I had is that, since I also have TV and digital voice service, every time the WAN failed, the TV froze for a second or two, and the phone lost dial tone. Those symptoms helped point to the ONT as that is the only common device for all three services on my property.

Ever since i upgraded to add voice and renewed my package I have the same issue. At least 4-5 times a day I will lose all internet connectivity on wireless and wirelined devices. It will reconnect again normally in about 1-2 minutes or if I power cycle the router. I have had the same modem/router for over 4 years. Could it be the modem/router or the ONT? It gets annoying sometimes when using Xbox live and it disconnects. Any ideas?

Check the router log to see what it shows. That would seem to be the first step to me. Also, when it happens, check to see if the phone briefly loses dial tone. If it does, as I said earlier in this thread, I would suspect the ONT.

Revision D has a small NAT table, I have the same problem that after a few days the Internet speed would become very slow unless I reboot the router.
Ask Verizon to send you a replacement router (you might get a later revision).
