Any dates as to when VZW Fios will be available in Central Cali, Bakersfield area in particular? We need those speeds here!!!
Unfortunalty, Verizon doesnt post schedules to the public. From what I understand its to keep the competition from knowing.
However, is Verizon Phone service even available in Bakersfield? If Verizon has DSL or regular phone service in the area, then according to the last press release that I read, They said that Fios will be available to 70% of the Verizon footprint by 2020.
However if Verizon currently does not have regular phone service in your area, Fios will not be comming. Fios is only going to be added within the Verizon footprint.
You will actually be the first to know when it is comming because you will see them digging up the streets. Usually when they finish digging up the streets and laying the fiber cable, then about 6 weeks later it will become available to the public.
