Let me add that I have never joined this board before but did it solely to express this opinion. I have been a loyal verizon customer for years, and the board president of my 90 unit apartment complex. I wanted to express my extreme displeasure at verizon's strongarming tactics and assure you that if verizon does not fix this issue, that our apartment complex with move over to comcast or another ISP.
In addition, we will raise up the issue of the need for municipal broadband with our elected representatives at federal, state, and local levels.

I WILL be canceling this trash FIOS service. It took 5 minutes for this page to load for me to reply. I have a gigabit capable hardwire pc, CAT 6 ethernet cable connecting the pc and outdated router verizon has provided. I pay $300 a month for the 500/100 mbps service but can't get HD quality on Netflix, Hulu or Youtube. Here's the proof of the speeds I'm pay verizon for.
Has anyone tried one of the Smart DNS solutions from, Unblock Us, Smarty DNS, TrickByte DNS, OverPlay, etc., to bypass Verizon's "throttled" path(s) to Netflix?
Do these smart DNS alternatives improve video streaming performance?

Oh, you didn't hear? Verizion recently won a court case which essentially kills Net Neurtrality, so no, they don't have to follow its rules. Welcome to the world of corporate greed.
Recently switched from Cablevision to Fios and already regretting it. The good news is Cablevisoin is offering to buy out my contract. Just might have to take them up on the offer.
