Fios uses cheap Cat 5 e Lan cable

I want to replace the cable with my own Cat. 7 cable

How do I open the modem case

So I can connect my own Cat 7 cable

First Verizon does not use modems, they use routers.

cat 7 is pure hype to grab your money. Fios has used cat5e for quite some time and now are using Cat6

the equipment you are referring to is called an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) this box can be opened with a 1/4 wratchet bit. However leave the Verizon side alone since if you break anything Verizon will charge you for the visit and damages.
