I'm trying to connect wirelessly to my Samsung BD6500 Blu-ray Player. It says that a physical connection has been made, but it does not recognize the SSID. Can someone tell me how to get the gateway ping to connect?

Go to samsung site and what port you can forward it to.
You might have to port forward it (not sure)
go to your browser
192.168.1.1 if action tect router otherwise go to ipconfig/all on command prompt . Check the default gateway and type it in the browser
your username: admin
password: serial on your router
Go to advanced and port forward and select the device and port forward to it. My instructions might be a little vague but I assume you are kinda tech savy.

Are you sure the BD player is connected to your wireless network and not a neighbors?
WEP security is enabled by default in the Actiontec.
The wireless adapter connected to the BD player must have the same security settings as the router.
Login to the router and click on the Wireless icon at the top.
A summary of the wireless settings in the router is displayed.

Is this a BD-6500 or a BD-C6500?
Did you enter the SSID that is currently configured in your router? - logon to the router as admin and check the wireless settings, while there check the device list and see if the device shows up there.
Does the device have the latest firmware?

Port forwarded is not necessary at all. Nothing to do with associating to the Wireless router. use the suggestions provided about connecting to the proper SSID.
