Have to reinstall coaxial cable if I decide to switch back to regular cable service from FIOS?

Can they just run it over the FiOS lines? Are the old coaxial lines still available and functioning when I switch back?

If you were to switch back to cable, the cable company would simply reuse the existing coax.

They would simply disconnect the coax segment between the ONT and the main splitter and then connect their feed to the main splitter.
