Help with getting internet connection...

My house is pretty big. We want to keep the main verizonfios router in the main family room but we also want to have internet for our gaming room which is so far from the main room.

Is it possible for us to setup another router that is connected to an existing coax in the gaming room? If so what routers(that has wireless capabilities) would you recommend(Now this is for gaming also) and that it wont compromise the speed? Thanks in advance.

In short basically the main router will be staying in the main room but we want our desktops to be connected(wired not wireless). Thanks again.

There are a number of options that you can use to get the results you're looking for.  The easiest choice is probably an Actiontec WCB3000N network extender.  It's the third item on this page:

https://teleproducts.verizon.com/fios/index.cfm/eh/DisplayProducts

You'd connect the WCB3000N to the existing coax using a high quality coax splitter.  The splitter would allow a coax feed to your TV and the network extender would then provide you with a couple of Ethernet ports plus wifi on both 2.4 GHz and (faster) 5 GHz.

Or you can use almost any wifi router and connect to to your existing coax cable via an Actiontec ECB2500B adapter.  A search for that model number will provide several online vendors, including Amazon.

The WCB3000N doesn't require much in the way of installation.  It's pretty much plug-and-play.  And while the EDC2500B is definitely plug-and-play, if you choose that method the router you choose will require some configuring.
