Help with second router

Hi everybody,

I recently got the quantom router to replace the actiontec rev I router as the primary, and I have it downstairs hooked into coax. I get the full advertised speed of 75/75 (sometimes more) over wifi and ethernet. I reserved 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.10 as static IP addresses and started the range from 10-100 on the primary. It is said to broadcast on channel 11 with B/G/N signal.

I took the old actiontec revI GigE router, disabled DHCP and assigned it static IP 192.168.1.2 and hooked it into the coax in my room. Now, I get full advertised speeds on the ethernet jack in this router, but wifi performance is absolutely garbage, and I have no idea why. I have it set to broadcast on channel 6 with B/G/N signal. Changing to N only has absolutely no performance advantages over compatability. Why does wifi speed suck so hard on this second router, when ethernet speeds are perfectly fine?

Try changing the wifi channel as it sounds like interfernce from some other device.
