How do I extend the range of a GigE router by connecting up a Rev E router ?

OK PowerUsers, time to strut your stuff.

I have a new GigE router, and still have my old Rev E router too.

If I can connect the two, with the Rev E also broadcasting signal at the far end of the house, then life is better.

I have plenty of CAT6 wire and connectors to make the patch cable.

1)  Would I run a patch between the white LAN ports on the Rev E and the GigE?

2)  I'm also guessing I need the old Rev E router to be a slave to the GigE?

3)  Would the Rev E broadcast the same signal by the same protocols?

Smart people explain potentially confusing things in simple, clear language.

So please type slow. Use small words. Short sentences.

And know, that I appreciate your help.

A Happy Fourth of July weekend to all.

Can I use my wireless or an extra router along with the Verizon provided router

If you have a coax connection where you're going to place the second Actiontec, you don't need to run a cat5 cable.

See part 2 of this FAQ:

Can I get an ethernet connection in a room with only coax?
