How to get my deposit back? When will I get my deposit back?

Hi,

    I got verizon fios in May 2014 and paid a refundable deposit of about $125 (don't remember the exact amount). I have paid on time and full every single month (every single month!). Today I called verizon (multiple times!) to cancel my connection but nobody seems to help me out with my security deposit. I was transferred from the billing department to finance department to collections and back to billing. I was on call with them for over 3 hours! Wanted to speak with a supervisor but that agent just did not let me. Asked him multiple times. I was told a supervisor will call me back. Hours later somebody did but when I answered the call, nobody spoke!

   Is there any way I can get my deposit back? Somebody please help me out. I'm really frustrated.

Did you sign a 2 year contract?

If so, it will be May before you can cancel without a penalty.

And once you do cancel, they will either credit your account for your final bill or should refund at that time.

Hi. Thank you for the quick response. Appreciate it!. No, I did not sign any contract. I requested them (today) to terminate my connection on 02/29/2016 as I am moving to a new place. Just having a really really hard time getting my deposit back.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

Please go to your profile page here on the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.

Under “My Support Cases” you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions.

To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe".

Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
