How to unblock a port?

I seem to have port 80 blocked. I need this port open in order to purchase itunes songs. The last time I purchased a song was in February and it worked just fine. Now I can't seem to make it work. After spending an hour and a half with itunes customer service we discovered that Verizon is blocking port 80. How do I unblock it? I can't seem to find a person to help me from Verizon. I am very frustrated. Please help.

Thanks.

Port 80 INCOMING is blocked for all Verizon DHCP customers

I do not know anything about ITUNES ports and the specifics to downloading from them, but I do know that millions use it, and if Verizon was doing something that caused people to not be able to use it, it would be HUGE news....

I highly doubt that port 80 incoming is the cause as to why you are having issue with ITUNES...

But if you really want to learn how to "open ports".... www.portforward.com is a great site, devoted to just that.

I know from running itunes port 80 blocked inbound should have no effect. If you are accessing web sites then port 80 is not blocked outbound. There is one issue that may cause problems and I have had to set on my daughters computer. Microsoft family safety could be blocking access to the site, and MSN parental controls would also cause this. Access to the site would work, but logging into the site for purchases could be blocked. I had to set these sites or domains as trusted, or permitted. Port 80 inbound has always been blocked on residential accounts and will not cause the issue you are having.
