In-Home Agent Fails - Supervisor Help Please!!!

I recently installed fios.

I have never been able to get the In-Home Agent to work properly.

The graphics overlap each other in places and some of the text runs off the right edge, making parts unreadable.

If that weren't bad enough, 99% of the time the imbedded links do not function at all. ( I finally did get the "Chat" link to work once, but that was an exercise in futility.)

I see this on 2 different computers.

I have just downloaded the latest & greatest version to my Win7 computer and there is no difference.

The Chat & email support is completely useless. They know less than I do. (I let one "tech" take remote control of one of my computers and his impatience with with a slow application resulted in him trying to open the program about 15 times; causing the computer to drag to a halt. I had to do a hard reboot to recover from his ineptness.)

I was able to set up my hotspot account only because someone here in the forum showed me how to find my way through the mind-boggling labyrinth that Verizon calls a web site to the setup form and application.

Why can't I get proper support for this problem?

Does anyone at Verizon really care?

It seems not. Man Mad

Well, I tried the number you provided.

After my jumping through hoops before I could even engage in a conversation the person on the other end told me that she wasn't the person to talk to & did I want her to connect me with fios internet support.

Really ??

She had no idea what I was talking about.

And here I was hoping I had actually gotten some decent help from someone at verizon.

Thanks for ...well...living up to my previous expreiences with verizon support.

I point to and quote from http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/Verizon-In-Home-Agent-runs-on-my-system-MAC-OSX-but-does-...

a)

like the online version of the app at www.verizon.com/repair

you can do a lot of the functions of the app without all the bloatware.

b)

As other have said it does something, it waste resources.  Not sure on the MAC, but on PC's it has been none to drive at least one cpu to 100% (If you only have one its really bad).  And the number of functions it does that you might ever want to do is minimal.

Personally I recommend that you uninstall it, and make sure you get all pieces of it

I agree that the agent is not completely necessary, but the Verizon web site seems designed to make it as difficult as possible to find support items & tools and the agent is a set of shortcuts.

Last month I tried to find the app to sign me up for the hotspot account and, after 15 minutes of wandering around chasing blind alleys, I gave up.

The only way I found it was to post here and have someone tell me where the f it was.

That's why I want the agent.

That's also why I have completely avoided the Verizon web site over the years except when I need to manipulate my account.

The site administrators either have an adjenda of some sort or are complete **bleep**.

Or both.
