Inactive devices connected to ethernet switch

Hi,

I have a Netgear switch connected to Fios router. Several devices (i.e. severs) are connected to this switch via ethernet cables. All things went good until one week ago when all these devices connected to the switch started being active and inactive back and forth. Devices connecting to Fios routers via WiFi are good.

Since all things were good two weeks ago, and I hadn't changed anything on the router, switch and the servers, I wonder if it is one of the two reasons:

First, the Fios router would upgrade firmware itself without my permission?

Second, one server holding a database receives a huge number of queries from other servers which has resulted in this issue?

Does anyone have the same issue before?

Thanks.

Yes. All Verizon firmware routers and extenders are managed directly by Verizon through TR-069 protocols. Verizon backend can push updates and commands. This comes especially handy in troubleshooting with a service representative.

Your issue sounds like a broadcast storm or layer 2/3 looping of some kind. Can you install WireShark to see what's flowing on your network?
