Intermittent high latency and packet loss

I do online racing on iRacing, and I have been getting consistent "discontinuity" reports when racing, which indicates a connection issue.  I've talked to other guys that race in other areas and other ISP's, and they don't have this problem.

I ran a PingPlot to the iRacing server, and it looks like the latency consistently spikes at 25 seconds after every minute, and the packet loss is around the same time.

This is a snapshot of what PingPlotter is showing to the iRacing server (Sample Information shows all 10 hops as comma delimitted times in ms):

AROUND 25sec AFTER EVERY MINUTE TIME SPIKES

Why is this happening?  It doesn't look like it's on my end at all (in my network - router, PC, etc).

It looks like an issue between the following:

5,0.xe-6-0-3.XL3.DFW7.ALTER.NET,152.63.5.93

I am sorry for the troubles you are having with your latency. There are many factors that can go into this. First we would need to isolate any non-Verizon equipment. According to your pings it looks like there are 2 routers involved in the home. Please bypass the non Verizon router and have the incoming internet connection come directly into the Verizon router then go to the computer trying to access your online game. This will rule out your second router there and how it builds the packets being sent out. Please let us know if additional help is needed after this isolation test.
