Internet Access in House

Hello -

I currently am running a 611 ONT for my FiOS home internet and tv. I have my router running upstairs, however just acquired a new desk with which I am hoping to set up a new office area downstairs.  I would like to move the router to this location as well.

I recall when the tech was first enabling the service in my upstairs location, that I needed both the ethernet and coax cable to feed the router, because 611 ONTs require both to provide internet to the house, as well as to update the channel guides for the STBs.

Downstairs I currently have coax running to the desired new office space, and was told that attaching a modulator (NIM?) to the coax cable would allow me to use internet downstairs. Does it sound correct that I'll need ethernet run to this room as well so I can get both internet AND channel guide updates?

TLDR:  Have ethernet and catv running upstairs to my router, want to relocate router downstairs where I have only catv currently.  Possible?

Thanks
