Internet connection lost every 4--5 hours

I have this new FIOS router, WHICH I PAID FOR (stupidly).  Ever since I got it, my internet connection disconnects every 4--5 hours.  It'll drop, be out for 2--3 minutes, and then reconnect.  Extremely annoying.  I see there are a lot of people complaining about this.  Any fixes that are known out there?

That shouldn't be happening.

Have we had you reset the router or the back up battery box yet?

That is my exact problem, and the solution was new 99 dollar router. I guess that was not the real solution.

Verizon loves to fleece customers, refuse to waive fee even with a long history of problems with previous routers.

I have the same problem.  Upgrade to quantum gateway with new router.  Wifi range is worse than the Aeotinic router and i'm supposed to have 75/75 speed the actual speed is 25/40

If the new Gateway range is worse as well as the speed then something isn't setup correctly. Sometimes a hard reset can fix issues with it, but if you aren't seeing the speeds or range it could be the channel the bands are on.

There's no way you were getting max 75/75 on wifi with the rev. i. Wired yes, but not wifi. Don't know if you meant wired or not.

I have the gateway and it is far better then the rev. i imo. Way more range for me and full wifi speeds on 5 ghz AC.

Try a hard reset and if that doesn't fix it call tech support. They can check to make sure the router is configured correctly on their end.

75/75 wireless is perfectly possible on a rev I.  I have one on a 150/150 plan and get about 130/99 wireless from my laptop (not sitting that far from router.

You must have a good wifi adapter then or not much channel congestion. I have a good one that could only get 30 max on the rev. i.. Now I get the full 75 with the gateway......of course I'm only 1 of 2 using the 5ghz band where I am.

FWIW, I also get ~75 mb/s up and down on my Gateway laptop connected via WiFi to my Actiontec Rev I router.  Assuming the laptop is in the same room as the router....
