I have internet and phone package. I wanted toswitch internet to Ethernet but the phone will still need the Coax? Don't want to keep the Actiontec only for phone...

Bottom line: No you don't need to keep the coax.
Telephone service is provided directly through an RJ-11 connector in your ONT to the telephone wiring in your location. The coax and the FiOS router are not involved in the phone service at all.

After reading your reply, I remembered the other small box where the phone line is connected :). For some reason, I was confusing this router with ADSL one 😞
