I was directed here by the "suggested actions" on my PS4 regarding PSN connectivity. I either get "internet connection failed" or "NAT type failed".
Their website says that "several reports suggest that your local internet is having problems that might affect your ability to sign in. Contact your service provider for more information".
Soooo......**bleep**?

There has to be something going on because it's not just PSN. Connectivity to certain websites just doesn't work either. Such as Youtube.com and ironically... verizon.com. I had to tether my phone to my laptop which is AT&T just to get on this site.

Do you have any other devices that connect to internet?
if so, are they having any issues connecting?
especially if you are having issues with sites other than psn?

I'll add my voice to the growing chorus. I've been on FIOS for 4+ years and have never seen it as slow and erratic as it's been today. Since about 4PM my connection has been going in and out.

So I call Verizon and had them change the IP address and now I'm up and running. Hope it is as easy for you. Good luck and have fun 😄
