We have not had a good Experance with Verizon Fios.

I have spent more then 72 hours on Hold or Talking to tech sopport since we got Fio's.( i'm not kidding ) Verizon Has a Standard its your comp's fault comeback. so if theres a prob with your system Keep Pushing them or you get noware.

Don't Get me Wrong when it works its Gold, but when it dose not Verizon WILL NOT HELP YOU.

I was Told this is not Verizons Prob.

However Its all over the STO forums Verizon Fio's IS LAGING At some Gateways.

Heres the info on where the prob is.

Heres what im looking for... im hoping theres a way to Rout around this or straght up fix it.

However i don't know enough about Verizon or networking in general to know what i need to fix this.

I have been doing the same thing well week friend.   I'm very frustrated.     They have told me the same thing, its not their problem.    I play both games as well.  I haven't logged onto STO this week,  but now reading your thread is upsetting.

I have been calling them about Mechwarrior online all last week.  I've talking to dozens of technicians,  they keep calling my cell phone and trying to give me the runaround.

First they claim they don't own any servers after the 6th hop,  which I proved them is a lie which they finally admitted,  cause the 7th hop server was owned by them,  and routing me through europe to get to canada.   Now that i have identified bad circuit they are routing me to in germany,  they are blowing me off again.

Fios doesn't talk to DSl,  residential doesn't talk to business.   This company has forgotten how 9-11 happened!

Its not their problem they all say,  They actually told me to email the admin of the german server myself.   I kid you not,  what kind of business practice is that.

They blame the game server.  But the truth is any speedtest to vancouver canada right now seems to have connection problems.   I use to get 20 ping in any part of canada,  now I'm getting in the 100s?

What really kills me, is that people with timer warner in my same area are getting constant never changing ping in the 20s to MWO,  and I'm getting ping over 100!  with occasionaly packet loss and lag causing disconnects from the game!

FIOS is just a pretty name I guess, and in reality doesn't mean its faster at all,   pricing for bandwidth is all the matters.   Its like their network is just as bad as comcast now!.

I  just read your traceroutes,  and realized your issue is beginning within the first 6 hops.   Verizon fios has no excuses not to address that immediately!  I would harass them now if I was you.

Ya they are turning into Comcast.....actually comcast satellite gets better connections to MWO then I get. I was at 25 ping all week again, I guess the kids went back to school. Now its saturday, and boom i'm back to 100 ping with spikes to 135. What the heck is going on? I think the more people that get Fios, the worse their network is getting. They can't manage it well it seems....
