Laptop crashing after installing FiOs

Last year we changed our internet provider to FiOs and as soon as we did that my laptop started crashing almost every time I tried to stream video. It happened on websites such as Hulu and Netflix and even happened when trying to play Facebook games.
Earlier this year we switched to Comcast and the problem immediately stopped
We just switched back to FiOs again and I started having the exact same problems.
Sometimes I can watch a video for 30 minutes before a crash, sometimes it happens after 30 seconds.

I have no idea why this is happening and it only affects one system in the house (the laptop used to set up and verify the account).
I have tried to find answers online but have been completely unsuccessful.
It makes no difference which browser I use, I have more than enough RAM, and all my devices etc have the most recent drivers.

The fact that the problem disappeared immediately after switching ISPs and reappeared after switching back would suggest it must have something to do with FiOs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please let me know what information you need regarding my laptop etc.

By crashing, do you mean "Lock-up" or is the machine actually getting a Blue Screen of Death/Grey Screen of death? If you haven't installed the Verizon software, FiOS shouldn't be anything more than a dumb pipe. Perhaps crashes could be coming from some bug with the software that surfaces while connected to the FiOS router, but that's strange.

It would help to know what operating system you are running. Also if you are running windows take a look at event viewer for any related error messages. As Smith6612 alluded to remove any verizon software it is not needed for internet access.

If the problem persists create a new user account and test with it.

By crashing I mean the laptop completely freezes and I need to hold the power button down to shut it off.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional and I removed the Verizon software that was installed but the problem remains.

The only error message I see in Event Viewer says:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
There's no specific information relating to what caused it to stop responding.

I'll try creating another account and see if that has any effect.

If the computer is still problematic after setting up a new user account, see if the event viewer clues into the problem. A good thing to check for are application errors and service hangs/failures.

I recently just got FIOs at my new house.  I was with Time Warner before and once I switched to FIOS (today) my laptop starts to freeze up on me as well.  No blue screens or crashes.  My laptop would just freeze for about 2 minutes.

I play DOTA2 via Steam and that crashes me as well.  I feel your pain Georgiyy and now I feel kind of helpless with this situation.  I ran my cleaning programs to see if there was any viruses but nothing came up.

PLEASE can anyone help us?  Do you think I need to call the tech support or something?  I cannot do the things I do if the internet from FIOs keeps freezing up my laptop.

My OS is Windows 7

Again, nothing was wrong when I was using Time Warner before about 1 day ago until today I tried the FIOS and it crashes on me.  Help?

^^^^ If TimeWarner required software to function did you remove it? You may also want to run http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/revo_uninstaller_portable just to be sure all traces are removed.

Also you may want to remove any verizon software you have installed

Any software being offered by Verizon is not required in order to connect to the Internet.

If any VZ software is causing problems I would uninstall it.

Did you run the optimizer?

Connected wired or wireless?

You need no software that VZ provides.
