Thanks for the info.  Last question- I promise!  🙂

 

If the main breaker panel is grounded to the water main, and my neutral bus bar in my box combines the ground and the neutral on the same bar, then ground wire runs from that bar to the water main, where will the install tech likely clamp his ground strap?  Just want to make sure I have clear access to everything he may need to get to...

Most panels have the ground wire coming from the top of the box.  It's usually above the panel  that they clamp their ground wire...
