Moving the router

I currently have my wireless router located on the top floor of my house, but most of my wireless devices are on the bottom floor so I feel I am losing speed due to the distance.

Can I simply move the router?  Or would I have to contact Verizon for them to establish one of the coax connections on another floor for the router to work there?

You can move the router to another location assuming its connected at a splitter with the other COAX connections.  I assume you are not using Ethernet (Cat5) for Internet connectivity?

If there are settop boxes for TV at one of the lower floors, the signal can be split via co-axial cable using a splitter. And for this a verizon tech may not be needed. But technically for verizon, the router is still located where it was originally installed.
