My Sling Player Does Not Work Remotely on Fios Networks

My sling box is set up locally on a high speed internet in LA.
I have not been able to use my sling player remotely on any FIOS Network.

Other friends have used my computer to connect to their Sling Box and it has worked fine, BUT their Sling Boxes are set up locally on FIOS networks. Mine is on DSL.

btw, it does work remotely on a cable network.

My question is,
"why would sling player not work remotely on a FIOS network, when the sling box is set up locally on a DSL line?"

"Are there any settings that I could change on the local router that would make this problem go away?"

BTW my router is Westell A90

Thanks

Sound like you don't have port forwarding enabled in your Westell A90 for the slingbox.

You would need to go into admin on the Westell router and enable port forwarding for the relevant port to the ipa address of the slingbox.  I believe some slingboxes can attempt to do this for you in their configuration.
