If Netflix is important get rid of FIOS or get a VPN.  That simple.

This week:

"Verizon is the worst ISP for streaming Netflix in the U.S."

"Meanwhile, FiOS still sucks, in spite of its peering arrangement with Netflix."

Youtube too suffers from frequent buffering.

Varies on where you are and which video you try to view.  I almost never see Youtube buffer.  Not a big netflix user, but have seen few problems in tests.  Note Netflix is slowly (very) being fixed by direct connection.

FIOS continues to throttle Netflix as much as they can without blantantly violating Federal Law.  I t will be 6-12 months before the issue is fixed, so my advice is get a new ISP.

"We've seen a lot of people accuse Verizon of throttling. However, what is happening likely isn’t technically “throttling.” Instead Verizon is simply neglecting to deal with traffic congestion because they have no incentive to do so. "

""It seems absurd to me that adding another hop via a VPN actually improves streaming speed,"   Clearly it’s not Netflix that doesn’t have the capacity. It seems that Verizon are deliberately dragging their feet and failing to provide service that people have paid for.
