New Computer, cannot connect to FIOS

We just built a new computer. We tired to connect to FIOS last night and having no luck. The laptop still work via wireless, but we have the desktop connected to the router. How do we set it up again for the new computer?

If your wired on have a normal recent OS it should be pretty much automatic.  The computers ethernet connection will ask for and receive necessary information using DHCP.


Obviously need to check that you have the right (probably latest) drivers installed.

When you plug into the router do you see the flashing  light indicating a good connection? If no check device manager to see if windows see the NIC it may be a driver issue. If yes and you are on Win 7 - network and sharing - set up a new connection - setup a new network OR connect to the  internet.....
