I ordered new 50/50 fios internet with quantum gateway router, received the wifi advanced router (older version) instead. I called, they said it won't come until 10 days later. Is this normal practice??
Also when I complained the speed didn't live up to my expectation (was more like 25/25) they said the old router is fine for even 75/75 and it's basically my fault that the internet is slow...um what? I checked my speed using speedtest.net on a desktop with wired connection so I expected full 50/50 or close to it.
Also, I got charged twice for the deposit and was told to give them 2 weeks to fix this...
Come on verizon

Verizon will only gaurantee your access speed.
To verify that, go to speedtest.verizon.net using a wired connection to router.
If that performs to your contract speed, then the issue is in the network.
If that doesn't meet your contract, you can go back to support with that test and they should investigate.

Run the Fios Speed Optimizer http://my.verizon.com/services/speedoptimizer/fios/ and reboot your computer and run a speed test again.

Let me add that I have the Actiontec Rev I router with the 75/75 plan. This is a typical result that I get 24/7/365:

My point is that if you have the Actiontec Rev I router, it's not the cause of your slower-than-advertised speeds.
