Just wanted to come back to say thanks to Hubrisnxs for his response.

Changing the wireless channel helped a little bit, but using your suggestion and the instructions at the link provided to "piggy back" a new wireless N router to the existing actiontec router worked the best.  The speeds I'm getting on my wireless connection now are as good as the wired connection and I have better wireless coverage throughout my house.

Users like you are worth their weight in gold.  Thanks again.

I am another one who is not getting correct speeds outside of verizon network.

I have 50/25 service.  The verizon test shows 50/25, but all other speed tests, like speedtest.net and speaskeasy.net, show 50/5.

I previously had 25/15 service.  Speakeasy.net showed 25/15 on their test.

Verizon tech replaced the router.  No change.

Thanks

Tom
