Often the networked printers require Windows File and Sharing to be enabled and allowed to work behind any installed Firewalls. Check to make sure your PCs are not firewalling Windows File and Printer sharing and are set to use a "Home Network/Trusted Network" Firewall setting.

Can any PC print to this printer?
You should at least get one PC able to print. You probably need to install the printer driver and software first.

Can you verify that you have an ethernet connection between the printer and the Verizon Router.
Can you find out the IP address and see if you can ping it from a PC.
The ethernet port on the printer should light up green to indicate link
Press the HP Report page button
See if the report shows the printer has an IP address
If all else fails I would reset the printer to factory defaults:
Hold report page button
while holding page button press cancel 3 times
release report page button
Then try to connect to printer again

I have a similar issue in that the printer connects wirelessly but on the router it shows offline.
