Returned equipment - charges not removed from account

I've been attempting to resolve this through chat and by phone, and no one has been able to help me. I ended my Verizon FIOS service in late November, and as instructed, I returned my equipment on 12/2. (I received a confirmation number from the UPS Store, and reciept was confirmed.) However, I am still being charged for the equipment. The deadline for payment has passed. Any time I talk to an agent, I get told that they're "facing a backlog" and are unable to do anything until they get through the previous issues. I would like to get this resolved, and the charges removed from my account.
