Man, that Verizon PR piece about the sale to Frontier is a real masterpiece of spin.
The deployment in Redmond WA has stopped. There is nothing happening. The spools of conduit have been packed up. The surveyd streets have not been wired. The big FIOS trucks are MIA.
In the end Verizon will walk away with a few $bn, frontier will be deep in debut and Comcast will reign supreme with their mediocre service.
Way to surrender, guys. What will you do when the cash from this transaction runs out? Penny wise, Pound foolish.
I will be moving to Redmond, WA soon to start working for a certain software giant - I am sure you all can guess which.
I would like to move into an apartment complex that has FiOS, preferably TV and Internet but just Internet is fine. Since I am not sure what apartment complex I will be living in, or what my exact address will be, I can't use the look up tool provided by Verizon.
Is there a coverage map somewhere, or can anyone recommend some nice apartment complexes in and around Redmond that I would be able to get FiOS at?
Thanks in advance!
Verizon is in the process of selling their assets in WA to Frontier Communications.
As a result FIOS deployment has stopped. The build out, which was going quickly where I live, has stopped. The FIOS trucks are nowhere to be seen.
Deployment within city limits was to be complete by last March according to a presentation given to the public. That is no longer the case.
Coverage is hit and miss in the city. Good luck.
