I still have the same router that Verizon installed originally several years ago. Can I get a new router without having to pay for it to replace my current one?

If the router's giving you some issues or if you need higher Wireless Security such as WPA2 encryption Verizon shouldn't have any problem with sending you another router. If you're just looking for an N router, you should be able to ask and receive. They may give you a harder time if you're just looking for Faster Wireless though.
