I went to Microsofts page and asked the to rate the security systems and McAfee rates very low,Why did Verizon change it security.I would think you would want a security company that would come out at least near the top.According to Microsoft McAfee is real bad with false possitives, that is not incouraging!!! Is there something you can say or show me to prove your decission to change security companies and why you picked McAfee?

I use Avast, Spybot - Search and Destroy, along with Malwarebytes. All three have free Versions that work very well. I would take McAfee over Norton any day. But then again I don't like either one, and use the three mentioned. Some of the best things in life are free.

Vista and Windows 7 also have a very good firewall, but by default let most outbound software do what it pleases. If you want to be protected from unwanted outbound connections, I would suggest Windows 7 Firewall Control software.

I say it is good that Verizon has a security suite for those who may otherwise not be protected at all. If you choose to pay for it, and use it, I say great that you are protected with something. Some may not subscribe to anything, load some outdated protection, and have a false since of security by not keeping the software updated. I have seen it many times, That is all I have to say.

I am not promoting any product, but I am just letting people know what I use.

I am sure Verizon's decision had to do with MONEY!!!!!

I am also sure that Microsoft's list did not even INCLUDE Verizon's previous security provider

Mcafee is a pretty well known "name brand" for anti virus/firewall

If you choose not to use Verizon/mcafee for your security, that is your personal prefrence... Verizon's presonal prefrence is to use it for their security....

There are plenty of FREE security products out there... you do not HAVE to pay for Verizon's

If they were not, Mcafee would not be in business

The majority of people that have it are indeed happy with it....

you can get it for free for the first 30 days.... why not try it out for yourself...

or use google and read some reviews for Mcafee.....

I used to have McAfee and I loved it.  My husband had Norton and Kaspersky and he got viruses and trojans all the time.  I never had one with my McAfee and that is enough for me.  I think you will be very happy Verizon switched.
