Set up my own router as a second Wi-Fi downstairs

I just bought a new modem/router from the big blue electronics retail store, and I am trying to set it up.  I have an existing Verizon router upstairs and want this one downstairs as a new and separate source of wi-fi. There is only Coax cable as an input.  I had a second WiFi source previously working downstairs with an OLD Verizon router we had leftover, but that had weak security WEP so I decided to buy a new router.  Where do I get the settings for the new one (an Arris Surfboard SBG10) so I don’t mess up the Verizon router in use upstairs?

That is a cable modem and is not compatible with FiOS. The coax input on that uses DOCSIS. Verizon uses MoCA. I would take it back and just get a FiOS network extender WCB6200Q for Verizon.
