I have a Verizon FIOS network setup with gig ethernet coming into my house (Verizon router) and right to my laptop (I use a gig ethernet switch). Speedtests on this laptop show almost gig upload and download speeds.
I am trying to download a 3 gig file from my company server and the download speed is only ~370 Kb/sec. What gives?

What type of connection do you have a work? Do you use a VPN connection to connect to your work? If you have a slower connection like DSL or T1 you won't be able to download the file at a high speed.
