Taking forever to open websites ....
The fios service today has been up and down the whole day today. I have been pinging google.com the whole day and the time varies from 52 ms per ping to 900 ms in the same cycle !
A few times I also had 50% of the packets lost.
I have tried restarting the modem, router a few times (including taking out the power cable).
Anyone else having similar problems with FiOS internet in Columbia, MD area?
Here is a snap of my latest attempts

Pings only tell us that there is a problem, but it doesnt tell us where the problem is. It could be PC, router, Verizon, or somewhere out on the interent somewhere.
Run a tracert and that will tell us where to look
if windows go to the cmd prompt and type.. tracert www.google.com
you can replace google with anything you want if needed.
Post those results and that will give us a better idea of what is going on

Thanks for the replies and sorry about the late response ....
I tried the tracert option that day and it looks like there was a problem beyond my router.
However my ping rates are now consistent at around 102 ~ 108 ms for google.com.
Thanks for the articles on the router issues ... I have observed that my connection speeds are much better when hardwired than on wireless ... maybe i should invest on a new router
