I see several threads with low MS speeds on their first tracert. Mine is high, but the 2nd tracert is unbelieveable.

I have buffering problems with all online video sites like youtube, liveleak, blogtv and others. Also, sometimes when I do a speed test, my results are 300kbps/ 1700kbps at times. I usually get 10000kbps/ 1800kbps though. Can anyone help?
My router ping seems to be high of 46ms, is that normal?
Router ping seems very slow to me. I have never seen anything > 1 ms to the home router. the only problem I see is that HOP 1 is consistantly high. Hop 1 should show <1ms not 45ms. The large number on the start of HOP 2 is likely related. I'd try rebooting the router (power down for 30 seconds and then power back up) if that fails, try resetting the router. (hold reset button on back for 15 seconds). If that fails I'd check the ethernet cable from computer to router and I'd even try rebooting the nic card
Consistent tracert to google for me shows <10ms to most router hops, including the first hop, my router at <1ms.
Have you tried this on a different PC?
