Valued Customer discount

I have been a FIOS customer for several years. When I started the service, it took a promotion for Free Multiroom DVR for life. Somehow they did not include it in the order but made up by giving me other discounts. The last one is called VALUED CUSTOMER discount which is scheduled to expire soon. I am simply asking either to restore it or give me Free Multiroom DVR discount. I am having such a hard time communicating with them. My service has been so long that I cannot see billing statements years ago. I am debating whether to switch to Comcast or DISH NETWORK or negotiate with FIOS.

I don't know, but compare what you have to what is offered to NEW customers (in NoVa, there are weekly flyers for new customers -   that's the best price Verizon will provide.

Then try talking to someone on the phone - -   I'm in the pre-install stage of upgrading to triple-play from double-play, and as such, am not considered a "new" customer and they will give a $100 card instead of $300 for new customers --  the monthly 2-year pricing seems to be the same for me as a "upgrade" as given to "new").

Basically, Verizon knows their competitor pricing and if no provider in your area is hunting for new customers, they won't do anything to keep you, except a rep on the phone may give you "added services" (not lower your monthly payments) like "free" premium channel for 3 months, only you have to make sure you turn off the service (or get charged)  --  I'm not familiar w/ Verizon, but big companies would rather give away things (either the cost is fixed or marginally lower) rather than reduce revenue.

Good luck and you should post back so others know what Veerizon's reponse is.

Just an fyi, these are peer to peer forums so Verizon won't respond about this.

Unfortunatly Verizon isnt very friendly with current customers when it comes to competitor matching regardless of how low the others might be or extending current offers that you have. I can guarantee you they won't give you a free multi room dvr.

Nothing wrong in trying for something else, but don't be shocked if they say, "there's nothing we can do."

Yea, I think most people didn't have luck getting that promo.  I've read of the rare case of a person here or there who got the free DVR for life upon re-signing for a new contract but most got a plain, old "no".

Sucks they do things the way they do; I had Verizon FiOS in Fairfax, VA the day it became available (can't remember but looking at like 5ish years) then got it at my new place too and I missed out on one of their better promos.
