I am tired of calling and having the Verizon rep reboot my router. This has nothing to do with my router.
Im not able to do much other than surf. FTP and email is spotty.. as these technologies rely upon other services than just port 80.
When is verizon going to fix this?

I'm seeing the same problem this morning.
Timing out to Google.com, CNN.com while other sites load right away.
On mega hold trying to get someone in tech support - my "9 minute wait time" is now at 45 minutes and counting.
Horrible.

Yes, I'm not too worried about level 1 techs. They just keep wanting to reboot your router.
This is way above them, but I keep asking them to escalate it to an engineer that can say "oh yeah, someone needs to fix this asap"... .but yet I haven't been able to pursuade the level 1 tech to do something.
Why isn't there a way to report backbone disconnetivity issues?
Apparently no one in the networking department is paying attention.

How long have you been seeing this? Looking at other posts in this forum it seems there has been a Central NJ issue that folks have been seeing since June 27th or so. Various post from folks in Jackson and Manalapan for example.

I'm in Dallas and this started yesterday. I know because it affected my work big time.
If this can't be fixed soon, we're bailing on Verizon, FIos and all. I don't care if there is a cancellation fee, but they are in breach of their contract by not providing adequate services.

Just got off the phone with Verizon. The tech acknowledged a "major outage" for NY and NJ. Could not give me and estimated time to resolution but said at least a day...
No other information available.

Yup, same backbone provider. Looks like Verizon forgot to pay their bill and maybe the backbone provider is restricting traffic.

Same here - Central NY. I can get anywhere with my WiFi device but not from my fios connection. Bummer as this is a home office and I have work to do!
