From my undestanding. the problem with swapping out the "I" for the old routers is that the old ones do not support "Quantum". I know this first hand as I had the "G" router, upgraded my speed to 50/25 and that router could not handle streaming on my smart TV. It kept buffering and then would kick HD down to SD. I called Fios and they informed me that the new "I" router must be used for "Quantum" speeds.

Not quite. That only applies for Quantum 75 or above. I get 58 downloads and 38 uploads - hard-wired connections - consistently with my Rev. F. on the 50/35 plan. (I have it bridged to an Aiport Extreme for wireless, which also gets me those same download/upload numbers.)

For those of you who want to keep FIOS, or are under contract and are fed up,, swap out your Rev I router for an older one. It only takes a couple of minutes and you should notice a difference right away (well, when I got FIOS a year ago, there were better diags..I could see that MoCA dropped every 10 sec/few minutes). Not sure if the current diags show you what you need, though.
.You could just buy your own brand name gb/wifi-n router and connect it via ethernet to the ont after having the provisioning changed.
But that can be a tricky setup if you have FiOS TV. You have to have the Actiontec or a MoCA adapter in the chain to still receive all the TV data.

Does anyone have a copy of the last firmware(40.4.20.2)? I wonder how long it would take for the router to automatically upgrade to the latest after downgrading to this version.

Josem441...Thanks but if you reread my post you will see I am looking for the LAST not the latest firmware. I have a theory based on comparing the source code of the firmwares (see earlier post) that the current firmware is the root cause of the reboots referenced in this thread.

Thanks again BUT that link is for the latest firmware, which most of us are running. As for the warning, I am looking for the firmware that we were all running before the latest update.

HangingJudge: Please let the group know if/where you locate the older version of the firmware. I've been wanting to roll back to an earlier version for months but haven't been able to find it.
