Verizon promised to waive my "one time setup fee" and then charged me anyway.

To get me to agree to sign up for another 2 years of "service", Verizon FIOS rep promised that the $149.99 setup fee would be deducted from my bill if I upgraded my internet.  It has not been deducted - it's on my current bill, and now, customer "service" is saying that they have no record of that commitment.  I am growing pretty tired of being lied to.  How do I deal with this?  I don't really want to cancel my service and go back to comcast, but will if I can't get this solved without more frustration.  I'm not stupid and I'm sick of being treated that way.

I am a little confused? Why is there even a set up fee to simply raise your internet speed from their central office? Did verizon come out and install something?

file a complaint with your states Public Utilities Commission or Public Service Commission for what they did via a google search. Also can file at http://www.fcc.gov

or http://www.bbb.org

or simply go to the other service as you wrote.
