Verizon reps keep saying different things, no internet

Hi there, folks.

I've recently came back to Verizon with triple play. Since i am coming back, I already have ONT installed and running. I bought a verizon fios gig router from ebay and Verizon sent me the TV set top box. I've hooked everything up and its all up and running. They can't seem to activate the set top box and blame my router and want me to buy router directly from them. Also they are saying they cant push the internet to me until my service tech comes... Why is that?


Note: Most people on the ebay page wrote that that router works fine with fios.


One of the reps said that since I already have everything, I can install everything myself and don't need the tech.

Another rep told me I need to wait for the tech to get the internet.

Can i even activate the set top box if router has no internet?
