Im interested in getting the 500Mbps down 100Mbps package from verizon fios but not sure which areas have it. I can only find a map of general verizon fios service but not by which has the fastest tier. I plan on moving to get verizion fios, and interested in moving to an area that has the 500Mbps service tier.
The areas you'll want to look for as a base are those that can already get connected with the 150Mbps and 300Mbps tiers. These areas are GPON areas and do have newer gear needed for 500Mbps/100Mbps. This doesn't mean that 500Mbps will be available off the bat, but GPON is an essential part of the puzzle. If the max speed is 75Mbps/35Mbps, it's likely a BPON area that is going to need to be upgraded (when?) for 500Mbps speeds.
