I'm a Senior on a fixed income now I have to Stress/Worry about my Internet Router going on me I have model MI424WR, which is on the retirement list. Why Is It The Customer will have to pay for New Router and Verizon no longer replaces it free?

The retired routers are still usable but now carry a monthly use fee. A bummer I agree. Over at http://www.dslreports.com there is a Verizon forum direct.
if you politely tell them your story the Verizon reps over there may give you a new router or refurbished router. They might even be able to knock off the fee if they get you a new router.
