I just moved in to my aunt's place for college, and well, we're having wireless issues. I brought over a Linksys WRT54G router, and I connected it with his Verizon FIOS modem. My laptop worked. I plugged the network cable to port 1, and everything was fine. However, his desktop stopped working. I dunno why, he says everything was fine before I moved in. It cannot find the DNS server. His laptop works. My laptop works, but his desktop does not. Any reasons why? Must I remove the battery in the modem and reboot it? I don't know what to do, and I don't want them to trouble themselves too much! 😞
What kind of connection are all the devices, wired or wireless?
How is the linksys router connected? Please tell me what ports are being used between the VZ router and the Linksys router.
