Wireless Range Extender

I was having some issues with my range so I got a range extender(Wireless N Router). I got a wired line from verizon router and connect new router. Everything is perfect. However maximum connection I can get is 24 MBPS, my line is 50 and I do get them when I connect with wired line. Just wondering if anything I could do so I can get more then 25 MBPS using wireless. New device is N so it can do more I know.

Should I upgrade verizon Fios router?

Depending on the router, being an 802.11n router could simply mean it's "n" capable, not that it is set in "n" mode.  So the first thing to do is go into your wireless settings and verify the mode.   Also, ifyou have other devices that are not "n"  that will limit your router.

Also, make sure you are using WPA2 security.

If that doesn't improve it, try checking it with your computer close to the router. (or range extender)  Distance and walls can make a big difference.

What speeds do you get when connecting w/ a wired connection to the second network?
