Yesterday You Tube videos lost their audio. Worked early in the day, then a few hours later no audio.
I've tried: Deleted cookies, restarted computer, rebooted router, removed and reloaded flash player.
Also went through all the "no audio" help suggestions on YouTube.
I'm at a loss as to how such a specific problem could suddenly occur on two computers.
Any ideas?

I experienced this last night as well, but its working today.
I think this was an issue with youtube.
If anyone else is still having the issue, check the volume on the video itself. I noticed today the first one I loaded up was set to mute.
Do you use auto updater for any programs on your machine(s) that could have caused this?
Have you tried rolling back to a restore point before the issue? Personally i do a full image every month so if you have a recent image you could try rolling back ???

No auto updates that get made without my knowledge.
I hadn't considered a restore since two computers have identical problems. But I performed one today, to a point when I know everything worked. Still no audio on You Tube.
Additional troubleshooting: If I download a You Tube video, there is no audio while it plays. But when I play the downloaded video the audio is there.
I am baffled on this.

I had the YouTube player bug out on me yesterday, and also mute the audio automatically. Easy enough fix. Backtrack the video so it has to rebuffed, and also unmute the player. Otherwise, I have not encountered this kind of issue for all videos. I do force HTML5 playback, so I am sure that causes some problems.

The problem was that it was muted. I routinely use my computer controls to adjust volume so I didn't notice the little x besides the speaker icon immediately. When I did, I clicked on the symbol and nothing happened. Two days later, clicking it showed the speaker control. The fact that the same exact problem occurred on two computers made it more confusing. One of which I hadn't used recently, and only used it Wednesday to check YouTube.
In retrospect, I should have accepted the simple answer. It was a YouTube glitch and they will get it fixed.
