alter.net packet loss?

Getting some serious and frequent lag spikes, just re-subbed to an online imagegame and already regretting it! No lag on any other online game. Pingplotter attached, looks like ISP issue?

Actually no it doesn't look like ISP problem.

The Verizon atler.net servers are set either to not respond, or repond at a low priority.

The fact that later servers are not reporting a loss, indicates there is no packet loss occurring.

There seems to be a high latency variance between your router and your computer. Might want to look into that first.

100% packet loss to a hop en-route is normal. This usually means that a hop is not responding to traceroute or ping requests. So long as the loss does not carry onward to forward hops, and if you can still reach your host, that usually means there isn't a problem.
